Jewelry II: Strengthening Your Soldering Skills
This intermediate course is designed for students who have a foundation in sawing, soldering, and basic stone setting and are ready to build on those skills. Over 12 hours of class time, you’ll dive deeper into technique and design while working in a supportive and hands-on environment.
You’ll explore bezel roping, multi-stone settings, and chain-making techniques, as well as learn to bezel-set faceted stones and practice pic soldering. We’ll also focus on refining your craftsmanship—improving solder joins, achieving cleaner finishes, and developing precision in your work.
This course is more than just new techniques—it’s a step toward finding your style, building your bench setup, and investing in your growth as a metalsmith.
Course Includes:
Brass and copper materials for class projects
A variety of 3–8mm cubic zirconias for practice
Use of all tools and equipment needed throughout the course
Unlimited independent studio time during the course duration
A recommended materials list shared upon registration
What to Bring:
A list of recommended sterling silver materials and tools will be provided after registration. While all necessary tools and brass/copper are supplied, bringing your own silver, stones, and preferred hand tools is encouraged. This helps you begin building a personal bench setup and gives you the freedom to tailor your work to your evolving interests.
Who Can Join?
This course is ideal for students who have completed our Intro to Jewelry Making course or have a good foundation in soldering, sawing, and basic stone setting. If you’re comfortable working with metal and ready to continue your learning, this is the place to do it.
